To a "T"

Digby reminds us of this charmless piece of wingnut "wit" of yore:What a curious beast it is. It waddles like a joke and it quacks like a joke, but teh funny eludes it with furious determination. Where could teh funny be hiding? Is it here?Or perhaps it's lurking down here...We report, you deride.

Hmph. I'm feeling very disenchanted with journalists today. Blob forbid the facts should stand in the way of some power narrative.

Well I couldn't fit "Court Stenographer" into the space available, but it does say that only some dissembly is required.

Personally, I'd like to actually SEE a "journalist" on-air in this country, aside from Soledad O'Brien and occasionally whatsisface with the white hair --- Gloria Vanderbilt's kid --- Anderson Cooper. Yeah, that's it. Okay, he got way too involved in himself for a good while there, but I've been watching Anderson since he was a low-on-the-totem-pole kid at ABC, doing World News Now on overnights. If I still had cable, I'd probably watch his show once in a while. When he's not being a vain little socialite, he can cover some good stories. Not quite as honest as Soledad, but still good.

Do journalism schools even EXIST in this country anymore? It seems like most of the "on-air personalities" nowadays are veterans of "Girls Gone Wild," or Pam Anderson's "Silicone & Giggles: How To Get A-Head By Giving Head" class. And then there's the females...

Good stuff, Mentis, but I gotta tellya -- when that patently offensive anti-First-Amendment p.o.s. shirt first came up, my first thought was of JIMMYJEFF GANNONGUCKERT --- I could definitely imagine him at the wrong end of a rope. But then I caught myself --- the t-shirt said, Jourrrrrnalist. Silly me, letting my bloodlust for republicunt hacks get ahead of me there...
